First Blog In Space!!

Wil Everts, web consultant and web log author, became the first "blogger" to transmit their work into outer space on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 6:07 PM MST.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- Wil Everts, web consultant and web log author, became the first "blogger" to transmit their work into outer space on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 6:07 PM MST.

After hours of scouring the web, Wil realized that the feat had not yet been accomplished and jumped at the chance to own an Internet first. "I've been making websites professionally for over 8 years. When I realized that it had not been done I couldn't wait to send the first CosmiCast ever!" exclaimed Everts.

He used a well known service to phone in the Morse code version of two web log posts directly to a transmitter feeding a large parabolic dish antenna. The system was designed by RF and broadcast engineers with over 75 years of combined experience in terrestrial and satellite communication experience. Before Wil played the Morse code, he sent the voice message, "We come in peace, enjoy our web logs!" The historic Morse code can be downloaded from www.wileverts.com in .wav format.

Wil Everts began creating websites professionally in 1996. He has since created many websites, commercial and personal. His web consulting practice, DesignOnTilt.com, is a small one, as he works full-time for the popular domain registrar GoDaddy.com. Wil plans to open a service called CosmiCast.com in which bloggers can pay a nominal fee to submit an RSS feed into space every month. "Some people think locally, some globally, but perhaps it was just time for an intergalactic blog."
